The Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos ( Spanish for " Palace of the Christian Kings" ) in Córdoba ( Spain ), built from 1328 Alfonso XI. in place of an older Arab castle, was the Catholic Monarchs to the reconquest of Granada as a residence. Here the Moorish caliph Boabdil was imprisoned. Inside the palace there are remarkable Arabian baths, Roman mosaics and a marble sarcophagus from the 3rd century. Originally towers were at the four corners of the building, three of which are still preserved: the oldest, Torre de Los Leones, which forms the entrance of the Alcázar, the Torre del Homenaje octagonal and round Torre del Rio. The fourth tower, Torre de la Vela, was destroyed in the 19th century.

At the eastern end of the gardens there are fortifications and the port of Seville.
