Alcoy (Cebu)

Alcoy is a metropolitan area municipality in the province of Cebu on the island of Cebu in the Philippines. It has 14,757 inhabitants ( census May 1, 2010 ) living in eight barangays. It belongs to the fifth income class municipalities in the Philippines and is described as a partially urbanized.

Geography

It lies opposite on the east coast of the island of Cebu on the road from Cebu, Bohol Island. Cebu City is located about 93 km northeast of the community and can be reached via the coastal road from there. The neighboring municipalities are Dalaguete to the north, Alegria and Badian in the west and Boljoon in the south. The topography of the city is described except for a small stretch of coastline as mountainous and very steep.
