History

The first historical mention of a settlement with Aldarespah name dates from the middle of the 8th century in the tradition Codex of the Monastery Mondsee. The alleged first mention of a church in Alder Brook from this period is based on a misunderstood note of the early 14th century, which is preserved in the oldest book of accounts of the monastery Alder creek. 1120 saw the establishment of the first monastery in Alder Brook (St. Peter ) by Augustinian canons. Around 1140 the name was already in use Alder creek, a Latinized form is found in written documents of the early 16th century as Adalogeriopagus. The name derives from the personal name Althar or Aldar and the Old High German bah or pach for a stream from. Alder creek belonged to Rentamt Landshut and the district court Vilshofen of the Electorate of Bavaria. The Abbey Alder Brook had here an open Hofmark, which was secularized in 1803. In 1806 it came to the sale and demolition of churches in Weng and on the Bernhard Berg. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818 the church Alder creek. The forced membership in the administrative community Aidenbachstraße was repealed in 1980.
