Aldo Gordini

Aldo Gordini ( born May 20, 1921 in Bologna, † January 28, 1995 in Paris) was a French racing driver.

Aldo Gordini was the son of Amédée Gordini, the founder of Gordini. Like his father, Aldo came in Italy to the world and moved with his family after the Second World War to France.

Aldo grew up in the area of automotive and motorsport and it was no wonder that he even found its way into the international motorsport. Aldo has worked to drive race began in 1946 as a mechanic at Gordini as he.

1950 drove the Gordini Type 11 in some selected Formula 2 races and finished third in Cadours and fifth in Aix -les- Baines. Together with Maurice Trintignant he was in the same year at the race in Roubaix fifth.

The last year of Aldo Gordini motorsport season was 1951. In Reims he drove his only Formula 1 Grand Prix. With the Type 15, he dropped out after a transmission failure from an early stage. In Le Mans, Gordini was at the start, before he retired from racing. With problems at the gasoline pump, he had to retire here.
