Alec G. Olson

Alec Gehard Olson ( born September 11, 1930 in the Mamre Township, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota ) is a retired American politician. Between 1963 and 1967 he represented the state of Minnesota in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Alec Olson attended the public schools of his home and thereafter until 1948, the Willmar High School. Between 1948 and 1955 he worked in agriculture. After that he worked until 1962 in the insurance industry. Politically Olson was a member of the Democratic Party, which in Minnesota is called since a merger in 1944, the Democratic - Farmer-Labor Party.

For four years, Olson was district chairman of his party. In the years 1960, 1964 and 1968, he participated as a delegate to the Democratic National Conventions.
