Alec Lindsay

Alexander " Alec " Lindsay ( born February 27, 1948 in Bury ) is an English former football player and was part of the successful team of FC Liverpool in the early 1970s.

Life

Lindsay was born in Bury near Manchester. In March 1969 he was transferred for a sum of £ 67,000 from his hometown club FC Bury to Liverpool. Lindsay's first assignment was for Liverpool in a game of " Reds " against Dundalk FC, ​​which ended 10-0 for Liverpool and for many years represented the biggest win of the team.

The left-back won with Liverpool in 1973, the English Championship and the UEFA Cup and a year later the FA Cup. He also played in 1974 four times for the English national team. In the summer of 1977 he left Liverpool to thereafter play for Stoke City.
