Alejandro Sanz

Alejandro Sanz ( born December 18, 1968 in Madrid, Alejandro Sánchez Pizarro actually ) is a Spanish pop musician.

Sanz was born the second son of María Pizarro Medina couple and Jesús Sánchez Madero. At the age of seven, he began playing guitar. Three years later he composed his own songs first. With 16 years Sanz moved to Moratalaz and attended management courses. During this time he also recorded his first album.

His first release on a major record label in 1991 was the album Viviendo deprisa. On his second album Si tu me miras, which came on the market in 1993, he collaborated with musicians such as Nacho Maño, Chris Cameron and Paco de Lucía. His third album 3 originated in Venice.

The international breakthrough came with his next two albums Más (1997) and El alma al aire (2000) who were able to place both in the U.S. Billboard charts. His album No es lo mismo (2003) was awarded in 2004 for Best Latin Pop Album Grammy.

In Germany Sanz was a wider audience with the song La Tortura, a duet with Colombian singer Shakira announced.
