Aleksandr Grebenyuk

Alexander Grebenjuk ( born 2 May 1951 in Selenokumsk, Stavropol region ) is a former track and field athlete, who competed for the Soviet Union. The 1.88 m wide and its competition time 92 kg heavy Grebenjuk 1978 European Champion in the decathlon.

Life

Grebenjuk 1972 fifth in the Soviet championships. After a second place in 1974, he finished 1976 ranked third behind Mykola Avilov and Leonid Lytwynenko. Together with these two Grebenjuk represented the Soviet Union at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, Avilov was third, seventh and Litvinenko Grebenjuk ninth.

1977 succeeded Grebenjuk then the jump in the absolute world class. After an injury in 1980, he graduated in 1981, two ten fights, the third he injured himself and ended his career.
