Aleksandr Kozhevnikov (ice hockey)

Career

During his career he played for Krylia Sovetov Moscow and Spartak Moscow HK. NHL Entry Draft 1985, he was selected in the 11th round to 227th place by the Calgary Flames. Nevertheless, he did not go after the collapse of the Soviet Union in the National Hockey League for one season but moved to the UK and Sweden. In all, he scored 243 goals in 525 games in the Soviet league. He was appointed to the team of the Soviet national ice hockey team. On August 14, 1981, he was in a game against Sweden for the first time for the Sbornaja on the ice. His international career was crowned with the gold medals at the Winter Olympic Games in 1984 and 1988. For the national team, he scored 28 goals in 70 internationals. On May 20, 1988 he played his last international match. In 1982, he was inducted into the "Russian Hockey Hall of Fame".
