Aleksandr Uvarov (footballer)

Alexander Viktorovich Uvarov (Russian Александр Викторович Уваров; born January 13, 1960 in Orechowo - Zuyevo, RSFSR, USSR) is a former Soviet football goalkeeper, and a current football coach.

Uvarov played since the 1981 season for the first team of Dynamo Moscow, with this team, he was in the 1984 Soviet Cup winner. In 1991 he moved to Israel Maccabi Tel Aviv. With Maccabi he was three times Israeli champion and twice Cup winners.

Uvarov played between April 1990 and May 1991 a total of eleven times for the Soviet national team. He participated in the 1990 World Cup in Italy and came during this tournament to inserts in the preliminary round matches against Argentina and against Cameroon. He is currently the goalkeeping coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv and the Israeli national team.
