Aleksandre Iashvili

Alexander Iashvili (Georgian ალექსანდრე იაშვილი; born October 23, 1977 in Tbilisi ) is a Georgian football player.

Career

Clubs

Originally designed for the Georgian giants Dinamo Tbilisi active Iaschwili joined on loan in January 1997 to the German second division side VfB Lübeck, but returned in the summer of the same year returned to his hometown club.

In October 1997 Iaschwili was committed from SC Freiburg. With the Badeners he rose to the Bundesliga the following year. The offensive player played quickly in the trunk of the team and was able to achieve in six Bundesliga years and 147 completed games 29 goals for the Südbadener which he was Freiburg's top scorer in the Football House of Lords, before he was overtaken in 2011 by Papiss Cissé. In the season 2005/ 06 Iaschwili was elected team captain for the following season, he served as deputy captain Soumaila Coulibaly.

Iaschwili moved to season 2007/ 08 the then first division club Karlsruher SC. He changed free transfer and signed a contract until 2010. After descending the north of Baden in 2009 this was extended until 2013. At the beginning of the 2009/10 season Iaschwili was appointed as the new team captain. After the descent of the KSC in the 3rd League, he joined the 2012/13 season to the second division VfL Bochum.

For the 2013/14 season Iaschwili moved to FK Inter Baku.

National

Since 1998 Iaschwili plays for the Georgian national football team.

In the years 2004 and 2008 he was elected Georgian Footballer of the Year.
