Aleksandrs Jerofejevs

Aleksandrs Jerofejevs ( born April 12, 1984 in Riga, Latvian SSR) is a Latvian ice hockey player who is since August 2013 when Admiral Vladivostok in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Aleksandrs Jerofejevs began his career as a hockey player in his hometown at HK Nik's Brih Riga, for the first team, he was active in the Latvian Hockey League in the 1999/2000 season. He then spent three years in the league rivals Stalkers / Juniors Daugavpils, before he ran aground in the season 2003/ 04 for the HK Liepaja Metalurgs parallel in the Latvian Hockey League, and the international East European Hockey League. From 2004 to 2006, he played a game each time for the Sioux Falls Stampede in the Junior League United States Hockey League, and the Roanoke Valley Vipers of the unterklassigen professional league United Hockey League. There managed to draw attention to themselves the Latvian national team with 33 points in 61 games, so he was taken from Ilves Tampere of the Finnish SM- liiga under contract. After only six games in which he had remained no points, however, he moved to HK SKP Poprad Aqua City from the Slovak Extraliga, where he finished the season.

For the 2007 /08 season Jerofejevs signed the reigning Czech champions Sparta Prague HC, which he failed at European level only in the final of the IIHF European Champions Cup on Russian opponent Metallurg Magnitogorsk. After he started the following season in Prague, he accepted the offer of Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk of the newly formed Continental Hockey League, with whom he later defeated Lokomotiv Yaroslavl finalists in the first round of the playoffs for the Gagarin Cup. In the 2009 /10 and 2010/11 season was at Metallurg Novokuznetsk of Lette in the KHL under contract. In September 2011, he was obliged by Timrå IK of the Swedish Elitserien, where he first a try-out contract was awarded, of which he was, however, released after nine days.

In December 2011, he received it a contract with HC Slovan Bratislava in the Slovak Extraliga and completed in the following 31 games for Slovan, before transferring to HK Kuban Krasnodar in the Wysschaja Hockey League in July 2012. A year later he was hired by the KHL rookie Admiral Vladivostok.

Internationally

For Latvia Jerofejevs participated in the U20 Junior B World Cup 2004, as well as at senior level to the A World Championships in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 in part. In addition, he was in his country's squad for the qualifiers for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
