Aleksei Smirnov (actor)

Alexei Smirnov Makarovich (Russian Алексей Макарович Смирнов, scientific transliteration Alexei Smirnov Makarovic; born February 28, 1920 in Danilov; † May 7, 1979 in Leningrad ) was a Russian- Soviet film and theater actor and Honored Artist of the RSFSR.

Life

Alexei Smirnov was born on February 28, 1920, the son of the couple Marak Stepanovich Smirnov and Anna Ivanovna Smirnova. Smirnov made ​​in 1940 graduated from the Leningrad Theater of Musical Comedy ( Ленинградский государственный театр музыкальной комедии ). During the Great Patriotic War, he served as an artilleryman in the Red Army and was awarded several times for his military merits. So Smirnov was awarded the Order of Glory second and third class, the Order of the Red Star, the Medal of Honor and the Medal " For merits in combat". Towards the end of the war Smirnov was seriously injured by a grenade explosion. The injuries were so severe that Smirnov was sent back home, and after his recovery to be able to beget children of their own was not. After the war Smirnov again worked at the Leningrad Theatre of Musical Comedy. From 1952 he played as an actor for Lengosestrady ( Ленгосэстрады ) and started playing in the late 1950s as an actor in movies. From 1961 he worked for the Leningrad Film Studio Lenfilm. In his career Smirnov played in more than 70 movies mostly comic roles. One of his most famous roles counts his appearance as Fedja in the film Operation ' Y' and other adventures Schuriks. For his merits as an actor Smirnov was honored in 1976 with the title Honored Artist of the RSFSR.

In October 1978, Smirnov suffered a heart attack and spent the following six months in the hospital. On 7 May 1979 the planned day of his release from the hospital, died Smirnov. He was buried in the South Cemetery in Leningrad.
