Alen Marcina

Alen Marcina (2009)

Alen Marcina ( born July 30, 1979 in Surrey, British Columbia ) is a Canadian soccer player. The striker played in his career in seven countries on three continents.

Career

Marcina played for the college team at Barry University in 2003 before his Senior career in the Canadian Professional Soccer League with the Ottawa Wizards, who retired at the end of the season from the league began. In ten games the attacker get nine hits, after which he received a contract with Greek club PAOK Thessaloniki in early 2004. After a few weeks, he was awarded the Icelandic Club ÍA Akranes in March 2004. For the season 2004 /05 he attended among others in Germany tryouts at Rot-Weiss Essen and 1 FC Saarbrücken, before eventually the 1st division club FC Bayern Schweinfurt andstaying 05.

After only six months he left Schweinfurt again and moved to Denmark to Herfølge BK in the SAS League, rose to the club but to the end of the season and came during the second round only two appearances. In 2006 he returned to North America and played for the Puerto Rico Islanders FC in the USL First Division. After a strong season he played from November 2006 to January 2007 for the New Zealand club New Zealand Knights in the A-League and then returned to the Islanders.

In mid-2007 he moved back to Canada and played in sequence for different clubs in the USL. First, at Montreal Impact, but a short time later charges him to the Premier League rivals Vancouver Whitecaps. In 2008 he signed with Minnesota Thunder, in the summer he moved to the Rochester Rhinos. For the 2009 season, he joined Miami FC.

At a use for the Canadian national team, it has not brought Marcina. In early 2007 he was only invited to a training camp of the national team.
