Alentejo Central Subregion

The Alentejo Central is a Portuguese subregion in the Alentejo region. It forms from parts of the former district of Évora, and historical districts of Portalegre are included in the sub-region. In the north, bordering the subregion to Lezíria do Tejo and Alto Alentejo, to the east by Spain, to the south by Baixo Alentejo Alentejo Litoral and to the west by the peninsula of Setúbal. The area is 7228 km ². 2001, there were 173 401 people in the subregion. The sub-region consists of 14 districts:
