Aleš Šteger

Aleš Šteger ( born May 31, 1973 in Ptuj, Yugoslavia ) is a Slovenian writer.

Life

Aleš Šteger studied Comparative Literature and German Studies at the University of Ljubljana. He has published several volumes of poetry. About his stay in Peru, he wrote a travel diary. His works have been translated into several European languages ​​and included in anthologies. In 2004 he edited in its own publishing poems by Edvard Kocbek and provided the book with an introduction. Steger works as an editor at the publishing house " Študentska Založba " in Ljubljana and translates itself from Spanish and German. Occasionally a DAAD scholarship Šteger artist has spent some months in Berlin and this written the narrative - essay sketches Preussenpark.

In 1998 he was awarded the Veronikina nagrada ( Veronika Prize ) and 2007 according to the Marjan Rožanc Rožančeva designated nagrada ( Rožanc price).
