Alessandro Gamberini ( born August 27, 1981 in Bologna) is an Italian football player. He plays the position of defender.

Career

In the club

Gamberini began his career in his hometown at FC Bologna. Here he played for three seasons in a row. However, since he was able to earn a regular place, he was loaned out for the season 2002/ 03 to Hellas Verona. After one season he returned to Bologna, where he remained for a further two seasons. At the end of the season 2004/ 05 of Bologna FC got off to Serie B, and Gamberini moved to his current club Fiorentina, where he has managed to get a regular place in spite of strong competition.

For the 2013/14 season Gamberini has been earned by the CFC Genoa.

In the National Team

Gamberini was junior national team of Italy and took the U -21 his country at the 2004 European Championships in Germany in part.

In 2006, he was first appointed by Marcello Lippi and after the World Cup of Roberto Donadoni in the Italian national team. An application, however, was not granted. It was only on 17 October 2007 he was allowed to represent the colors of his team 's 2-0 friendly win against South Africa in the field.

For the 2008 European Football Championship Gamberini was not originally nominated. Only a violation of Fabio Cannavaro enabled him to later call to the levy of the Squadra Azzurra.
