Alessandro Hirata

Alessandro Hirata ( born May 20, 1979 in São Paulo) is a Brazilian legal historian and professor of Roman Law and Legal History at the University of São Paulo.

Life

Hirata studied from 1997 to 2001 Law at the University of São Paulo. He studied from 2003 at the University of Munich, where he received his doctorate with a thesis on performance instead of fulfillment for the Doctor of Laws ( Dr. jur. ) 2007. From 2005 he worked as an assistant to Gerhard Ries at the Leopold Wenger Institute for Legal History. In 2008 he was appointed Professor of Roman Law at the University of São Paulo, where he habilitated in the same year with a thesis Tignum iunctum. Hirata is one of the few lawyers who deals with the study of the cuneiform rights.
