Alessandro Maggiolini

Alessandro Maggiolini ( born July 15, 1931 in Bareggio, Province of Milan, Italy, † November 11, 2008 in Como) was Roman Catholic Bishop of Como.

Life

Alessandro Maggiolini ordained a priest on 26 June 1955 in Milan by Giovanni Battista Montini, the future Pope Paul VI .. He was professor of philosophy at the Catholic University of Milan, later Episcopal Vicar for the university. He was a close confidant of Cardinal Giovanni Colombo.

On April 7, 1983, he was appointed by Pope John Paul II appointed Bishop of the Diocese of Carpi in Carpi, near Modena. He received his episcopal consecration Cardinal Sebastiano Baggio on 29 May of the same year. Co-consecrators were Artemio Prati, Bishop of Carpi, and Gilberto Baroni, Bishop of Guastalla.
