Alessandro Pittin

Alessandro Pittin (born 11 February 1990 in Tolmezzo ) is an Italian Nordic Combiner.

Pittin was as a teenager member of the team that was set up by the Italian Association for participation in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. The Italians had only participated in the Junior World Championships in 2005 and again in 2006 by then and was started in any single World Cup competition. Only shortly before the Games, he played a race of second-rate B- World Cup. In the Olympics, the Italian started on his 16th birthday in Gundersen competition ( two jumping 15 km cross-country ), but finished with a large residue only ranked 46th in the relay and the sprint race was no use.

After the games Pittin remained in the B World Cup and competed in FIS races. In December 2007, he reached for the first time a first-class result in the World Cup, but had no points. An increase in output was three months later at the Junior World Championships in 2008. Alessandro Pittin became world champion in Gundersen competition, won bronze in the sprint and finished fourth with the team. In the subsequent World Cup season 2008/2009 he managed to place 23 for the first time in the World Cup points. In the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2009 in Štrbské Pleso Alessandro Pittin was two gold medals in the two individual competitions of superior combiners. Even with the general Nordic World Ski Championships in 2009 showed the Italians with sixth place in the final competition in a strong performance. The 2008/09 season, he finished with an eighth place in Lahti and the 35th in the overall standings.

In World Cup season of 2009/2010 Pittin could improve, especially in the long run. Located in Ramsau am Dachstein, he reached his first podium with third place. Up to the Olympic Games in Vancouver followed by two third places.

In the Italian Championships in Nordic Combined, 2011 in Predazzo Pittin won the Italian league title before Giuseppe Michielli.

On January 13, 2012 Pittin made ​​in Chaux-Neuve for the first World Cup victory of an Italian in the Nordic combined. The next day he sat in the same place again through against Frenchman Jason Lamy Chappuis. The third success on the third day of competition in Chaux -Neuve, he was able to achieve three World Cup victories on three consecutive days at one venue as the second Nordic Combiner by Björn Kirch iron.
