Alex Barros

Alexandre "Alex" Barros ( born October 18, 1970 in São Paulo, Brazil ) is a former Brazilian motorcycle racer. With 276 contested race he was up to the 277th Grand Prix start of Loris Capirossi record holder in the Motorcycle World Championship.

Career

Barros drove his first race at the age of eight years in the Brazilian Minibike Championship, which he won at first. In the two following years he won the Brazilian moped championship in 1981 ³ the national title in the class up to 50 cm and in 1985 in the 250cc.

1986 Barros debuted at 15 on the international stage of the motorcycle world championship in the 80 cc class and could enter six championship points in his first season. 1988 was followed by the rise in the class up to 250 cc, in which he finished in 18th place in the World Cup second year.

In 1990, Barros as the youngest driver ever in the 500cc class to Cagiva. According to some results in the points Barros In 1992 with a third place at Assen for the first time on the podium.
