Alex Jason Brosque ( born October 12, 1983 in Sydney ) is an Australian football player. The striker is in the service of J- League clubs Shimizu S-Pulse since 2011.

Club career

Brosque began his career after his time at the Australian Institute of Sport 2001 at NSL club Marconi Stallions. Until the termination of the League in 2004, he scored in 53 games 13 goals. He was honored in 2003 and 2004 with the Papa Savas Medal for best young player (U -21). He received following an offer from Dutch club Feyenoord Rotterdam and was awarded immediately from there to the Belgian club KVC Westerlo. In Westerlo he came among other things because of an ankle injury just 16 missions, scoring two goals. In 2005 he returned to Australia, where the professional league A-League, a new league format was established.

He signed a contract with the Queensland Roar, with whom he despite eight season hits that reached the title of the scorer, did not qualify for the finals themselves. For the season 2006/ 07 he moved to the reigning champions Sydney FC, but since then could not repeat that success. Brosque is considered very unselfish striker, so he took example for the seasons 2005/ 06 and 2008/ 09 league internally peak positions in the statistics of Torvorlagengeber. Also in the championship win in the 2009/10 season Brosque was with six goals and seven assists for the service providers in Sydney.

In January 2011, Brosque changed for the period specified transfer fee of A $ 400,000 to the Japanese club Shimizu S-Pulse. The change took place in controversial circumstances because Brosque had already signed on July 1, 2010, effective from 1 April 2011, the new three -year contract with Sydney. In his expiring contract, however, there was a get-out clause, which was used by Shimizu. It is also questionable whether the Shimizu in the face of the contract without the consent of Sydney with the player should not have to negotiate, according to FIFA regulations, this must be done with less than six months remaining contract only with players. Sydney will now be considered by FIFA the transfer process.
