Alex ÄŒejka

Alexander Cejka ( born December 2, 1970 in Marianske Lazne, Czechoslovakia ) is a German professional golfer.

As a teenager, who was born in Czechoslovakia Cejka came to Germany, and received German citizenship.

In 1995 he won, along with two other tournament victories on the European Tour, the prestigious Volvo Masters at Valderrama Golf Club. After a few years in Europe, he moved to the United States, where he in 2002 to qualify for the PGA TOUR earned himself.

Thanks to good performances he could retain his eligibility to play in the years 2003 and 2004 on the PGA TOUR; in the years 2005 and 2006, he had to go through the tough qualifying school. In 2007 it remained the spared because he was also placed by a strong finish in the season ( two top - 10 finishes in the last three tournaments) in the top 125 on the money list, giving him guaranteed a right to play for the 2008 season. In addition to Alex Cejka had at that time only as a German Bernhard Langer this game right.

This year, before the BMW International Open in Munich held the Pro-Am tournament Out of Bounds, which is organized by Richard Rayment (RDI Sports), Cejkas former manager, initially bore the name Alex & Friends.

In 2008, Alex Cejka changed his racket. Instead of the Srixon brand, which he had used successfully three years on the tour, he chose to bat Callaway Golf, with whom he had already achieved his earlier successes.

In the 2009 season Cejka could count on the PGA Tour some exclamation, without being able to celebrate the big success. So he finished the Verizon Heritage in April after the first 18 holes still rank 1, fell in the course of the weekend, but still ranked number 13 back. Even more dramatic was his appearance in May at the Players Championship, the unofficial fifth major. There Cejka led after three rounds with five shots clear, but fell after a weak fourth round at the side of the runner-up Tiger Woods still number 9 back and was able to just save his first top 10 ranking in 2009.

The year 2010 ended Alex Cejka than 91 the ranking of the U.S. PGA Tour. Best result was a third place. In 2011, he failed due to a grass allergy obtaining eligibility to play in 2012 and played only a few tournaments each on the PGA Tour and the European Tour. End of 2012, he failed to qualify for the PGA Tour scarce.

2013 Cejka played on the U.S. sub - Web.com American tour, where he finished in 64th place at end of season and thus missed the full authorization of the top 50 of the rankings for participation in the PGA Tour. At the season opener of the Web.com Tour 2014 at the Pacific Rubiales Colombia Championship in Bogota he achieved his first victory in the 301 appearance at tournaments on the PGA Tour.
