Alex Crawford

Alex Christine Crawford OBE ( born 1963 ) is a British journalist of the British news channel Sky News, for which she has worked for the Middle East in Dubai currently a correspondent.

Her journalistic work she began at Wokingham Times, moved on to the BBC, and finally in 1989 to Sky News. Three times in a row, she was honored by the Royal Television Society with the award for Journalist of the Year. She is married and has four children.

Alex Crawford was their live reports in the Libyan civil war of 2011. Early August 2011, she joined those organizations of the National Transitional Council, who had just conquered az- Zawiyya by the militias of the dictator Muammar al - Gaddafi. On the night of August 21, 2011, she accompanied with her producer and two camera men these associations in their offensive against the Libyan capital of Tripoli and sent it as the first ever live images of the fighting and the entry of the troops into the city center on the green space.

On the occasion of the New Year Honours 2012 Crawford was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire.
