Alex Diggelmann

Alex Walter Diggelmann ( born August 20, 1902 in Interlaken, Canton Bern, † 23 November 1987 in Zurich ) was a Swiss artist who was able to win three medals in the art competitions of the Olympic Games.

Diggelmann took for the first time at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin in part, in which he took with a titled Arosa I Placard Poster and won the gold medal in the category of Advertising Art. In the next discharged Olympic Games in London in 1948, he won the silver and the bronze medal with posters for the World Championships in road cycling or ice hockey. Except Diggelmann it is only the Danish author Josef Petersen managed to win three medals in the Olympic art competitions.

For the Diavolezza in Pontresina in the Engadine region of Switzerland Diggelmann designed in the 1930s a poster.

Diggelmann also designed to today awarded at the World Ski Championships FIS medals and the trophy of the UEFA Cup.
