Alex Foster (ice hockey)

Alexander Dwight Foster ( born August 26, 1984 in Canton, Michigan ) is an American professional ice hockey player who is at the Iserlohn in the DEL from the 2013/2014 season under contract. Foster's father, Dwight and his uncle Wes Jarvis were as active in the National Hockey League. His brother Corey Elkins is also a professional hockey player.

Career

Alex Foster began his career as a hockey player with the Sioux City Stampede, where he was active in the 2001/02 season in the United States Hockey League. After he started the season 2002/ 03 in Sioux City, he moved to the Danville Wings in the North American Hockey League, for which he also ran aground in the season 2003/ 04 after their league change in the USHL. From 2004 to 2006 played for the crew of the attacker Bowling Green State University, before March 8, 2006 as a free agent contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs received for their farm team in the American Hockey League, the Toronto Marlies, the U.S. Americans for the first time in professional hockey was on the ice late in the season 2005/ 06.

After Foster had accrued in 2006/ 07 for the Marlies in the AHL and the Columbia Inferno in the ECHL, he gave the following year his debut in the National Hockey League. He was point and impunity in three games for the Toronto Maple Leafs. The season 2008/ 09 he spent exclusively with the Marlies in the AHL. In the two following seasons was Foster at the Toronto Marlies in use and had in the season 2009/10 initially held the position of assistant captain before the attacker as team captain of the Marlies was on the ice during the season 2010/11. In June 2011, the Americans won a contract with the HC Sparta Prague in the Czech Extraliga. In January 2013, he signed with the Adler Mannheim a contract that expired back in the summer.

From the 2013/14 season Foster plays for the Iserlohn Roosters.
