Alex Henry

Alexander Lawrence Henry ( born October 18, 1981 in Elliot Lake, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who was in October 2013 in HYS The Hague in the hockey Eredivisie under contract.

Career

Henry began his hockey career in 1995 in the Canadian Junior Football League Northern Ontario Hockey Association at the Timmins Majors and also played two games for the Timmins Golden Bears, before he moved to the London Knights in the Ontario Hockey League, where he stayed for three years.

His professional career began in 1999 when Henry the Hamilton Bulldogs in the American Hockey League, for the 185 games played in three years. 2002 Henry made ​​his debut in the National Hockey League with the Edmonton Oilers, which, however, after only three games put him on the transfer list. He played only 38 games for the Washington Capitals and three for the Portland Pirates before he landed back on the transfer list on 9 October 2003. New employer were the Minnesota Wild and Henry now played his first full NHL season. During the NHL lockout in 2004/05 Henry played in the German second league ESV Kaufbeuren and then returned back to Minnesota, where he was at times captain.

On 22 August 2006 Henry was now free agent, taken from the Nashville Predators under contract, but only played for their farm team, the Milwaukee Admirals. In July 2008, he signed with the Montreal Canadiens a one- year contract, but only played two games in the NHL. Instead, he returned to the Hamilton Bulldogs, where he remained until 2012.

9 May 2012, it was announced that Henry has signed a contract with the Düsseldorf EC.
