Alex Jackson (footballer born 1905)

Alexander Skinner Jackson ( born May 12, 1905 in Renton, Scotland, † November 15, 1946 in Egypt) was a Scottish football player and soldier in the Second World War.

Life

Jackson was born in Renton, a small village in Scotland. The Scot played primarily on the wing. His strengths were dribbling and kicking free kicks. The first club was the Jackson's hometown club Renton Victoria FC. 1922 joined the talented footballer for FC Dumbarton. After only one year we went to Scottish giants FC Aberdeen. From Aberdeen and Bethlehem Star in 1925, he went to Huddersfield Town, where he recorded his greatest successes. In 1930 he moved for the equivalent of € 12,500 to Stamford Bridge to Chelsea. In the two years with the blues Jackson could not win a title. After the end of his time in London, the Scot was still playing for Aston Nationals FC Margate and for OGC Nice in France. Internationally, he played 17 times for the Scottish national football team, scoring eight goals. Jackson died in 1946 in a car accident during his time in the army in Egypt. He took part in the British Army in World War II.
