Alexander James Pearce ( born November 9, 1988 in Oxford) is a born in England of Scottish football player who is under contract with FC Reading since 2006.
Playing career
Reading FC (2006 -)
Alex Pearce debuted on January 9, 2007 in the third round of the FA Cup 2006/ 07 for Reading FC in a 3-2 home win over Burnley. He then played until 6 May 2007 loan for the English third division side Northampton Town ( 15 league games / 1 goal). After playing in the 2007/ 08 season on loan at AFC Bournemouth and Norwich City, he played 23 August 2008 his first league game for Reading in the Football League Championship 2008/ 09 ( 2:4 defeat at Charlton Athletic).
After two more seasons with regular operating times, Alex Pearce (45 league appearances / 5 goals) established in the Football League Championship 2011/ 12 as a regular in the defense of Reading FC and reached with his team's promotion to the Premier League. As an award for its above-average performances, he was elected Player of the Month December 2011.
Scottish national
On 20 May 2008 Alex Pearce made his debut for the Scottish U-21 national team at a 1:4 defeat against Norway. His debut in the jersey of the Irish national team, he had a 4-1 victory in the friendly match against Oman, as einwechselte in the 46th minute on September 11, 2012 him head coach Giovanni Trapattoni for Marc Wilson of Stoke City.
