Alex Sharpe

Alex Sharpe ( born May 4, Ireland) is an Irish singer, who was known primarily through their membership in the group Celtic Woman.

Earlier career

She began her career as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz which was performed at the Olympia Theatre. Then she played Janet in The Rocky Horror Show, the young Sally in Follies in Concert, Jenny in Aspects of Love, and Mila in Aloha Kamano by Sean Purcell. Furthermore, she played Eponine in Les Misérables by Cameron Mackintosh Company in England and Ireland and on the concert tour of Les Misérables. Sharpe created the role of Bernadette in the musical The Beautiful Game by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Ben Elton. When she returned to Ireland, she played the role of Kate Foley in The Wireman in the Gaiety Theatre.

Sharpe has sung in Icelandic Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. She made recordings for the soundtrack Evita with Madonna. She also played in a concert for the charity The Prince's Trust at the Mayflower Theatre. In 2006 she traveled to Chicago at the premiere of the musical The Pirate Queen participate as a director.
