Alex Shnaider

Alexander "Alex" Shnaider (born 1969 in Leningrad ) is a Canadian businessman and billionaire. He is a director of the Midland Group and has since the beginning of 2008, the Israeli football club Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Life

Shnaider studied at York University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree. He earns his money in the manufacturing industry and lives in Toronto. He is married and has three children.

Involvement in Formula 1

Alex Shnaider bought in January 2005, the financially troubled Jordan team of Eddie Jordan and renamed it for the 2006 season in Midland F1 Racing. Thus, he avoided the complete reconstruction and the enrollment fee of $ 48 million.

Alex Shnaider had previously planned for the 2006 season through a partnership with Dallara to have produce the cars in Italy and not in the old Jordan 's plant in England ( Silverstone, Northamptonshire ), which was superseded by the purchase of the Jordan racing team. In September 2006, Shnaider sold his team to the Dutch car manufacturer Spyker, of his own Formula 1 team sent by the name Spyker F1 at the start of 2007.
