Alex Sperafico

Alexandre "Alex" Sperafico ( born January 21, 1974 in Toledo ) is a former Brazilian racing driver. He is the oldest of the four racing driving Speraficos.

Career

Sperafico began his motorsport career in 1998 in the South American Formula 3 Championship. He finished third in the B-Class and 13th in the overall standings. In 1999, he started only a few stages of the South American Formula 3, finishing in 20th place overall. He also participated in a half- season of the Barber Dodge Pro Series. In the following two years he started two races each at the South American Formula 3 Championship and in the Barber Dodge Pro Series, which he on the ninth and 2001 finished 2000 in 13th place overall.

In 2002 he moved to the European influenced international Formula 3000 Championship for serviced by Coloni Motorsport Team European Minardi F3000. Alexandre Sperafico met in the series on his cousins ​​Rodrigo and Ricardo Sperafico. Alexandre was the least successful of the three Speraficos and was replaced after nine races by Justin Keen. In 2003 he returned to America and started in a race to the Barber Dodge Pro Series. He also gave Dale Coyne Racing for its debut at the Champ Cars. Sperafico competed in two races in the 2003 season and finished the season in 26th place in the championship. In 2004 he received a cockpit with Conquest Racing. He could not keep up with his teammate Justin Wilson and was replaced after eight races by Nelson Philippe. At the end of the season he finished in 19th place. In 2005 he went to only two Champ Car race for CTE Racing - HVM. He replaced Ronnie Bremer and eventually became replaced by Rodolfo Lavín. With an eighth place he achieved his best Champ Car result this season and finished 20th in the overall standings.

In 2006 he took part in nine races in the Atlantic Championship for Brooks Associates Racing. He could not convince in the series and was 22nd in the overall standings.

After the 2006 season Alexandre Sperafico ended his racing career.
