Álex Ubago

Álex Ubago ( born January 29, 1981 in Vitoria- Gasteiz; born Alejandro Martínez de Ubago Rodríguez ) is a Basque singer and songwriter.

At the age of four years Ubago moved with his parents to San Sebastián, where he still lives today. His professional singing career began at age 14, when the manager Íñigo Argomaniz discovered him and helped in 2000 to a contract with the Spanish music producer Jesús Gómez.

Álex has studied business administration, but ultimately not completed. He plays guitar and piano and is a good billiard player.

In September 2000 Ubagos appeared first album " ¿ Qué pides tú? " ( Eng.: What do you want? ), which sold well in Spanish speaking countries. Over half a million copies were sold and the album subsequently certified platinum. The love ballad " Sin miedo a nada " (Eng.: Not afraid of anything) was chosen by the website los40.com the most beautiful love song of all time.

With his second album " Fantasia o Realidad " (Eng.: fantasy or reality), which was released about two years later, Ubago was able to continue his success and went on to tour Europe.

After three years in which he published no new songs, but was most concerts and live albums produced, appeared in the summer of 2006 his new album " Aviones de Cristal " (Eng.: Glass aircraft).

In July 2007 he was a finalist in the " Orgullosamente Latino " in three categories: Best Album ( Aviones de cristal ), Best Song and Best Video Clip ( Viajar Contigo ), but ultimately won a prize.

In March 2009, he released his fifth studio album Calle Ilusión, which debuted in Spain in eighth place in the album charts. To market his album, he also traveled to Latin America and the United States.
