Alex Woolf

Alex Woolf ( b. 1963 ) is a medievalist at the University of St. Andrews.

He specializes in the history of the British Isles and Scandinavia in the Early Middle Ages, and in particular their relationship to the populations in Wales and Scotland. He wrote the second book of the New Edinburgh History of Scotland, covering the period 789-1070. Later he was awarded the 2008 Saltire Society award for " history book of the year".
