Alexander Dalgarno
Alexander Dalgarno ( born January 5, 1928 in London ) is a British physicist and astrophysicist.
Dalgarno studied mathematics and atomic physics at University College London. He taught at Queen's University Belfast in 1967 and went to Harvard University. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society and a member of the International Academy of Quantum Molecular Science.
Dalgarno investigated atomic, molecular, chemical and dynamical processes in astrophysics and Aeronomy and has made important contributions to physics of the interstellar medium.
