Alexander Edler
Alexander Edler (born 21 April 1986 Östersund ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player who is since 2006 at the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League contract.
Career
Alexander Edler has already been selected as a youth player in the NHL Entry Draft in 2004 in the third round than a total of 91 players from the Vancouver Canucks. First, the defender played in the 2005/06 season for the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League, before he made his debut in the National Hockey League for Vancouver in the following season. In his second NHL year, the Swede was among the permanent employees at the Canucks, for which he scored in 75 games of the season 2007/ 08 20 scorer points, including eight goals.
Internationally
For Sweden Edler took part in the U20 Junior World Cup in 2006 and the Ice Hockey World Championship 2008. At the World Championships in 2013 in Stockholm and Helsinki, he was again part of the national team and won the gold medal with this. At the Olympic Games in 2014 he won the silver medal with the Swedish national team.
