Alexander Farnerud

Alexander Farnerud [ alɛksandɛr farnɛrʉ ː d] ( born May 1, 1984 in Landskrona ) is a Swedish football player. He played for Sweden 35 U-21 caps and four in the senior team. Since July 2013 he plays for the Italian first division club FC Turin.

Career

Farnerud debuted in 2001 for Landskrona BoIS in Superettan. The midfielder rose with the club at the end of the season in the Allsvenskan on. After the 2003 season he left the club and joined from January 2004 Racing Strasbourg. With the club he won the 2005 Coupe de la Ligue, the French League Cup.

In the summer of 2006 Farnerud moved for a transfer fee of about 2.6 million euros to the German Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart, where at first there was only the reserve role he also due to small injuries. His first goal he scored in a preseason game against Lazio. Through this gateway of VfB managed to finish the game with 1:1. In the Bundesliga, he remained without a goal.

On 8 July 2008 Farnerud moved to Denmark Brøndby IF.

Farnerud debuted on February 16, 2003 in the Swedish national team. In a composed mainly of players from the Allsvenskan team that import a 3-2 win at a game at the King's Cup against the country's selection of Qatar, he was in the starting and was replaced in 68 minutes against Stefan Ishizaki. On June 19, 2013 it was announced that Farnerud changes for 2.5 million Swiss francs for Torino FC.
