Alexander Findlay (Lieutenant-Governor)

Alexander Findlay († May 10, 1851 ) was a British lieutenant colonel in the Royal African Corps and was the first Lieutenant Governor of the British colony of Gambia in West Africa.

As the successor of Alexander Grant, he led from 1 August 1826 the Gambian garrison in the West India Regiment, at the same time, he served as administrator of the colony.
