Alexander Flamberg

Alexander Flamberge (* 1880 in Warsaw, † January 24, 1926 in Warsaw) was a Polish chess player.

Alexander Davidovich Flamberge spent his youth in England, where he learned the game of chess. After his return, he won the championship of Warsaw in the years 1901 and 1902. The Four Masters Tournament Łódź 1906, he finished third behind Rubinstein and Chigorin and before Salwe. In 1910 he won the championship of Warsaw before Rubinstein, but then lost a match against him ( 0, -4, = 1).

Flamberge was one of the "Russian" participants of the chess tournament in Mannheim in 1914, who were interned after the war broke out and demolition of the tournament. The internees, including initially also Alekhine and Bohatyrtschuk, played eight tournaments, the first in Baden -Baden and the following in Triberg. The first tournament won Flamberge, five times Bogolyubov was the winner and twice Rabinovich.
