Alexander George (philosopher)

Alexander George is an American philosopher with research interests mainly in the philosophy of mathematics and philosophy of language. He is also a chess composer.

Philosophy

Alexander George teaches at Amherst College. He received in 1979 in Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts and the Harvard University in 1981 the title of a teacher of the liberal arts and 1986 doctoral degrees. He was appointed an honorary member at Amherst College Master of Arts in 2001.

George founded the site askphilosophers.com, from the internationally successful book What would Socrates say? ( German title: What is the opposite of a lion? ) emerged. The website makes it possible to judge philosophical questions to professors. He also wrote a book about philosophy in mathematics and gave out at least two more books.

Chess composition

Alexander George composed mainly retro analytical tasks. He founded an Internet forum for chess composition.
