Alexander Imeretinsky

Alexander Konstantinovich Imeretinski (Russian Александр Константинович Имеретинский, scientific transliteration Aleksandr Konstantinović Imeretinskij; born December 24, 1837 in the vicinity of Moscow, † November 17, 1900 ) was a Russian prince and general of the Russian army.

Alexander Konstantinovich Imeretinski came from a mediatized princely family, who formerly ruled Imereti.

He was educated in the Corps, and joined in 1855 as an ensign in the Guards Pioneer Division. In 1856 he was a lieutenant in the 14th grusinische Grenadier Regiment in the Caucasus, visited from 1859 to 1862, the General Staff Academy and was then put into the Guard General Staff.

He participated in the Polish Insurrektionskrieg, was colonel and adjutant, 1869 General and Chief of Staff of the Warsaw Military District, 1872 assistant to the inspector of rifle battalions. In August 1877 he became commander of the 2nd Infantry Division, which was assigned to the army before Plevna. On 3 September 1877 he stormed with Mikhail Dmitrievich Skobeliov the city Lowatz, today Bulgaria, and then took part in the siege of Plevna (Bulgaria) and the crossing of the Balkans.

After the peace he was appointed Chief of the General Staff of the army in Turkey appointed ( to Nepokojtschitzkijs site) and the Adjutant General. From 1883 he was commander of the 6th Army Corps in Warsaw and received in 1885 as Procurator General, the top management of the military justice system.

From 1896 to 1900 he served as Governor-General of Warsaw Vistula Country (Poland).
