Alexander Ipatov

Alexander Ipatov (Ukrainian Олександр Іпатов; * July 16, 1993 in Lviv ) is a Ukrainian chess player, who joined in January 2009, the Spanish Chess Federation since February 2012 and plays for the Turkish Chess Federation.

Life

At four years old, his father taught him the game of chess. After four years of training, he experienced his first success in March 2003 as Vice-Champion of Ukraine U10. He qualified for the U10 World Cup in Greece, where he finished in eleventh place. In 2007, he was U14 vice champion of Ukraine and was number 8 in the Youth Chess Championship U14 in Turkey. At the age of 14 he was awarded the title of International Master (IM), and since 2011 is Alexander Ipatov Grandmaster (GM). 2012 won in Athens Ipatov the title of World Junior Champion.
