Alexander Kolb

Alexander Kolb ( born May 12, 1891 in Mainz, † April 4, 1963 in Darmstadt ) was an officer in the German Wehrmacht, most recently with the rank of lieutenant general.

Life

Kolb came in 1909 as a cadet in the Foot Artillery Regiment " General Feldzeugmeister " No. 3 a. After a short use as adjutant general of the foot artillery of the fortress of Mainz he became leader in 1915 battery Foot Artillery Regiment No.3. In 1918 he became commander of the Foot Artillery Battalion No. 32 By the end of World War II, he was from 1920 used in the police service. He also served as commander of the National Police, the Department of Worms.

In 1935, he joined the Air Force. In 1937 he became commander of the 13th Flak Regiment. In 1938 he became commander of the Air Defense Command 2 in Szczecin; In 1939 he took over the Air Defense Command 6 in Hannover and was anti-aircraft artillery commander during Luftgau XI. In 1941 he became commander of the Air Defense Command 8, from 1942 officer for b. V. of the Reich Air Ministry from 1 July 1941-31 May 1943. As of 31 May 1943, he was put into retirement.
