Alexander Laas

Alexander Laas ( born May 5, 1984 in Hamburg ) is a former German football player. He played mostly in left midfield.

Career

As a youth player Laas moved from his youth club Niendorf TSV for Hamburger SV. He made his Abitur in 2004, as some other HSV- youth players also at the high school Heidberg in Hamburg- Long Horn. He had a few brief appearances and a UEFA Cup use in the first team of HSV, but mostly he played in the second team in the Regionalliga. His first league game he played in the 2004/05 season against Hansa Rostock.

The general public Laas was announced on 3 December 2005 at the home game against 1 FC Cologne. During the jubilation over a gate of his team-mates he was from a drumstick thrown by a fan Cologne, met and went to the ground bleeding. His captain, Daniel van Buyten, carried him into the middle of the field so he could receive medical assistance. Trailer of the 1st FC Cologne threw continue with objects.

His first Bundesliga use in the starting XI, he completed 30 September 2006 against Eintracht Frankfurt. He gave it one assist. In the season 2006/ 07 he was on 21 Bundesliga appearances. On 3 February 2007, he scored in the game with his first Bundesliga Hertha BSC.

On 23 July 2007 he moved to VfL Wolfsburg, because it no big chances figured himself at HSV on a regular place. There he came in the 2007/ 08 season only four short sessions. Shortly before the end of the summer transfer window 2008 Laas was loaned to Arminia Bielefeld to the end of the season 2008 /09. For the 2009/10 season he returned to VfL Wolfsburg, but was offset by coach Armin Veh in the second team. There he came only to five short sessions and received at season's end a new contract. Then he moved to the 2010/11 season to RB Leipzig, where he received a two-year contract until 30 June 2012. In 2012, he joined the second team of the club. This he left in 2013 and ended his career as a footballer.
