Alexander Meier

Alexander Meier ( born January 17, 1983 in Buchholz in der Heide Nord ) is a German football player.

Career

Club career

Youth

In his youth, Meier played for several clubs in the area of Hamburg, including five years at TSV Buchholz 08, before he moved to Hamburger SV with twelve years. To this he returned after a year's MSV Hamburg.

Professional career beginning in Hamburg

For the season 2001 /02 changed Meier for FC St. Pauli, for which he came on 19 April 2002 to his first in the Bundesliga in the game against Hamburger SV. In the season 2002/ 03 he was a regular player, scoring seven goals in 23 games. After the descent of the FC St. Pauli in the Regionalliga Nord, he returned to Hamburger SV, but came in the 2003/04 season in only four games for use.

Eintracht Frankfurt

2004 Meier was loaned to Eintracht Frankfurt in the second league, where he fought his way to a starting place and his goals helped the rise towards the end of the season. At the beginning of the 2005/06 season Meier was tied for a total of approximately 500,000 euros with the Frankfurt final. In the 2011/12 season, in which he played with the harmony in the second division, he came up with 31 league appearances for the Frankfurt, scoring 17 goals, which he was with Nick Proschwitz and Olivier Occéan scorer in the second division. In the 2012/13 Bundesliga season he scored 16 goals and contributed to the qualification of harmony to the Europa League. On March 7, 2014, he has extended his contract with Eintracht Frankfurt until the summer of 2017.

National

Meier played twice in the German U-21 national team, and participated in the U -21 Football Championship in 2006.
