Alexander Misurkin

Alexander Alexandrovich Missurkin (Russian Aлександр Aлександрович Мисуркин, scientific transliteration Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Misurkin; born September 23, 1977 in Jerschitschi, Smolensk Oblast, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian cosmonaut.

Cosmonauts activity

From August 2009 to February 2011 he took part in the training for the ISS. Since January 2011, he trained for the ISS-33/34 mission and the Soyuz TMA -M as a flight engineer, as it was divided into the backup crew for the mission, Soyuz TMA- 06M.

His first long-duration flight broke Missurkin on March 28, 2013. He flew on the Soyuz TMA- 08M to the ISS. He worked there as a Flight Engineer of ISS Expeditions 35 and 36 on June 24, 2013 Missurkin undertook his first spacewalk together with Fyodor Yurchikhin. The two took maintenance work on the cooling system of the Russian segment of the ISS. They also installed brackets for power cables to the new module Nauka, which is to dock in early 2014.
