Alexander Polezhayev

Alexander Ivanovich Poleschajew (Russian Александр Иванович Полежаев, scientific transliteration: Aleksandr Ivanovich Poležaev; * 30 Augustjul / September 11 1804greg (according to other sources 1805) in Pokryschkino ( Penza Governorate ), today Mordovia; † 16 Januarjul /. .. January 28 1838greg. in Moscow) was a Russian poet. Because of his satirical poem Sashka he was sent by Tsar Nicholas I personally purification in the military service. An edition of his poems appeared in 1832 in the print.
