Alexander Schur ( born July 23, 1971 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a former German football player and current coach. He played as a defensive midfielder.

Playing career

In youth Schur played since 1977 VfR Bock home before moving in 1988 to Rot- Weiss Frankfurt, where he played six years. After a season with local rivals FSV Frankfurt (25 games) came Schur 1995 - discovered by Charly Korbel - concord to the 2nd Bundesliga, where he first played for the amateur team.

Schur played from 1996 to 2006 at Eintracht Frankfurt, for whom he scored 23 goals in 251 official matches. Due to his fighting spirit and his club loyalty there he became a crowd favorite. A highlight of his career was his headed goal to 6:3 against SSV Reutlingen 05 in the final minute of stoppage time, which allowed the promotion to the Bundesliga in the last game of the second division season 2002/ 03.

Schur was for several years captain of Eintracht. Since 22 May 2004, he also has his own fan club, the " EFC oldSCHURhand ".

After the end of his professional career in the summer of 2006, he left his career in the sports friends Selig city in the Bezirksoberliga Frankfurt-Ost finish. After the 2006/07 season, which ended with the rise, Schur ended his career for good.

Coaching career

The season 2007/ 08 he started as assistant coach of the A- youth of Eintracht Frankfurt, but moved in December 2007 to co- coach of the second team. In summer 2009, Virgin took over as coach the B- youth of harmony with which he was German champion in the season 2009/10. Also in the 2010/11 season coached the U17 Schur Eintracht Frankfurt. In early January 2011, he took over the post of the U-19 coach. Since the 2012/13 season he coached the second team from Frankfurt.

Others

Since 2008, Schur runs a soccer school in Hofheim am Taunus. Schur is a banker.
