Alexander Sitkovetsky

Alexander Sitkovetsky (Russian Александр Ситковетский, scientific transliteration Aleksandr Sitkovetskij; * 1983 in Moscow ) is a Russian violinist. He is the nephew of Dmitri Sitkovetsky.

Biography

He was trained from six years by his uncle and later studied in London at the Yehudi Menuhin School and in master classes with Maxim Vengerov.

Sitkovetsky first met in 1991 and played several plates a. He also appeared in famous concert halls, including the Royal Festival Hall and the Queen Elizabeth Hall. He also played on Menuhin's funeral. From the journal The Strad Alexander Sitkovetsky was called " Star of the new century ".

Since 2007, Alexander Sitkowetzki plays together with pianist Wu Quia and cellist Leonard Elschenbroich in Sitkovetsky Trio.
