Alexander Township is one of 14 townships of Athens County in the U.S. state of Ohio. According to the census in 2000 2614 inhabitants were registered here.

Geography

Alexander Township is located in the south-west of Athens County in southeastern Ohio and borders clockwise to the townships: Athens Township, Canaan Township, Lodi Township, Bedford Township, Meigs County, Scipio Township ( Meigs County), Columbia Township ( Meigs County), Lee Township and Waterloo Township.

Management

The township is administered by a Board of Trustees consisting of three elected members. Two persons are elected in the year after the presidential election and one each in the previous year. The term of office lasts four years, beginning on 1 January. There is also a Township Clerk (Secretary), who is also elected in the year before the presidential election to a four -year term. Whose term of office begins on April 1.
